Online jobs? Does anyone know of any LEGIT. online sites where you can make $$$ from home?

So I need another source of income, I recently encountered a life altering situation where I need to work from home. I am desperately trying to search for online websites, where I can fill out surveys, or be an online chat-room monitor, or just about anything along those lines, but every time I research one I find and think is legitimate, it turns out it is a scam. I really NEED some help and I am hoping anyone out there can point me in the right direction, give me the name of real, legitimate websites that won't scam me out of my money.
