I want to get my masters and I also have a 3 year old so I'd prefer to take classes online. However, I haven't heard many good things about online degrees/universities....any suggestions on a good online school that isn't about 'selling' their school. I don't want to hear 'What can we do to get you into our school today!' :)
Online school for Masters in Education?
There are a few places that have online Master's in Education.
Fort Hays State University, small school, public, non-profit, accredited, CHEAP ($183 per semester credit hour) :) - http://www.fhsu.edu/virtualcollege/
Florida State University, big, well known school, public, non-profit, accredited, expensive if you don't live in Florida - http://learningforlife.fsu.edu/online/
University of Wyoming, big, public, non-profit, accredited, reasonable tuition, not may education programs online though. - http://outreach.uwyo.edu/ocp/
Good luck
Reply:I don't teach where an M.Ed. is offered, so you need not fear my recruiting :-)
Actually, if you take a program from an accredited school, I'd expect the level of quality will be equivalent to a traditional on-campus program. Noting, with regret, that sometimes that's good indeed, and other times that's pretty pathetic...
Your state universities probably have something along those lines, and they'll have lower tuition compared to the private or out-of-state schools, plus a degree of proximity if you need to spend short periods of residency (some programs are online except for two weeks or so) or to handle some special need.
Reply:Try Grand Canyon University. They offer many master degrees in education and different subjects online.
