When you buy stuff online what do you buy, and where do you buy it?
1. buying on line has always been secure for me so far.
2.credit card fraud sucks and has been around since the beginning. it is not going to get any better for merchants any time soon.
3. I feel secure buying from well-known companies, if I am shopping on an auction site, or small business.. i use a prepaid on line account like pay pal.. i will only use a credit card at store
4.I buy from whatever strikes my fancy or can get me a better deal than buying local retail.
5. I don't buy e-books, i enjoy going to a bookstore too much.
6.discounts, free shipping incentives and special promotions.
7. Internet shopping is what you make of it.. choose wisely and do research on any business that you are unsure of before buying.

Reply:I buy stuff online all the time.
1. I do, so far I haven't had any problems-except for my bank thinking I was someone else purchasing a bunch of stuff with my card after I got my taxes once, lol.
2. I haven't run into that myself. I suppose insurance would help cover such issues.
3. As long as a website looks professional and up front, I don't worry about it. If it's not or looks shady in any way, I just don't purchase from them.
4. I've purchased from many types of stores online-from little mom %26amp; pop shops, self employed-stay at home shops, from E-Bay, from Yahoo geocities, from amazon %26amp; Barnes %26amp; Noble, etc.
5. Be professional %26amp; have exceptional service %26amp; products.
7. I can't think of any!
Reply:I shop on-line all the time and have never had a problem, knock on wood! I love HSN, QVC, Amazon, E-bay etc. I also pay my bills on-line and love that as well!
Reply:I shop online regularly. Its no more insecure than putting your card in a cash machine or in one of those chip and pin machines nowadays.
My fave sites are
Ebay
Hot UK Deals - good for discount vouchers to shop online
makeupworld.co.uk - cheap makeup
Tesco.com - for my food shopping!
Just ensure that you dont log in on a public computer and that the site you use is secure (ie has the padlock sign) when you enter any information.
Reply:1. Yes, I think buying online is secure. Mainly because I buy from well known sites.
2. As a merchant you need to evaluate the cost of risk versus the cost of profit... larger merchants can afford the credit card fraud (since they are held responsible to refund the money). If you own a small shop, etc.... I would not do online credit card sales so that I would not have the risk of being held responsible for credit card fraud.
3. I feel secure buying almost anything online. I stray away from large pieces of furniture though, due to risk of damage during shipping- but I have bought a complete bedroom set online once, and it was just fine. :)
4. I buy from large, well-known websites, or whichever site has the product I am looking for, for the cheapest price/best deal.
5. No, I do not buy books online.. I would rather go to the store and flip through the pages, etc.
6. I'm don't think online merchants need to do anything more to earn my business.... If I buy online it is becuase it was out of ease for myself or something.
7. Research before buying a product and you can evaluate whether you want to risk buying it online or not.
Reply:I DONT!! WELL NOT YET LOL
