Nintendo Wii Online?
Well like XBOX live, you can download many little games, in the case of the Wii it's in the form of "Virtual Console" games that can be accessed through the Wii Shop channel, this allows you to download classic console games of the past. There are other little applications you can download for free like the Everybody Votes channel and the Check Mii out channel that enhances the interactivity factor. As far as games are concerned, it's only been lately that more and more games are supporting the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, so keep your eye out for that. Updates for the Wii itself have seen visual improvements to the menu, and allow you to use your usb keyboard to type messages that you normally send through the message center.
Reply:well...

there's a weather channel, a news channel, an internet browser

the virtual console, which allows you to purchase and download games from past consoles (n64, snes, nes, sega genesis, etc)

the my nintendo channel, which allows you to download nintendo ds demos and other things

and some more stuff

and yes, there are updates

overall, connecting the wii to the internet is quite worth it, either through the ethernet adapter, or a thing that you plug into your computer to allow the wii to connect to the internet through that computer
Reply:There is many good stuff on the Wii internet, like playing online with friends and downloading old games to play as much as you want. Also, the connection is free (there are many extra packages that cost money, but they are not mandatory). This is the full list:

-You can get messages from friends and from Nintendo even if it is off. It will even start blinking so you see you have a new message. Also, you can send your own messages to other Wiis, emails, and even cellphones that have internet.

-You can see the current weather forecast or see the news of the world.

-There are many wi-fi games in the market, and there will be many more on this christmas season. A good example is SSBB or Medal of Honor: Heroes 2.

-Surfing the internet on the Wii can be fun. There are lots of pages like wiicade.com that have many flash games to be played on a Wii.

-The Wii is compatible with usb keyboards, so you can use your Wii to chat or write mails when someone is using the computer(s) of the house.

-There are almost 200 Virtual Console games from NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, Neo-Geo, and TurboGrafx (both 16 and CD) that can be downloaded at a cheap price. And you dont even need a real credit card to buy.

-There if a new firmware update more or less each 5 or 6 months. Firmware updates let you do cool things, like transferring save files and games to an SD card.

In my opinion, you should buy it. If you won't play a lot online on the Wii, you can at least keep the adapter to download new firmware and see some webpage when you feel like it.

Anyway, you could just buy a Nintendo wi-fi USB connector for $15. The wifi USB connector is a device that lets nintendo things (including Wii) connect to the internet as long as there is a computer turned on. I recommend this more, because that way you can have both your xbox and your wii connected at the same time.
Reply:the online capabilities of the wii are great and seem to be the new fad. here you can get unlimited downloads of the Latest movies, music,tv shows and more for less than 50$ and they have a great customer service , check it out . im glad i did !
