Online Relationships??

I met this guy online, Daniel. He doesn't live far from me and we have dated, online, but broke up. We still talk and we're cool with eachother. Now the school yearis ending for me and I want to be able to see Daniel.





I know meeting people online is a BIG NO NO. But he is a freind of my friend, Marissa, whom I trust very well. So, it should be fine. He tells me I'm like his everything, and that we should get back together. But I don't know if I want to. He makes me think I am absolutely perfect, and I want to know that he can my perfect someone.





Should I meet him? He's technically my first where actually the other person loves you back.

Reply:meeting people online is not a big no no. it's just a matter of how you meet them outside the chat rooms. the good thing about meeting people online is that you can check out what kind of person they are just by chatting with them. you can screen them for their likes and dislikes. you can talk all you want before actually meeting them in LIVE and in PERSON. and if you think they are not match for you, then you can decline the meeting him. it's how you feel. if you have one ounce of doubt, then don't meet him because it will just carry on though out the life of the relationship. remember you cannot change someone. i say continue chatting on line with him and get to know him. if he likes you that much, then he shouldn't have any problem waiting a little bit more getting to know each other. you will know when the time is right. again, be safe. if you have to meet, meet him at a public place, and inform someone you trust of your whereabouts. do not give him any personal information. decide to meet him at a public place several times before telling him your address or any personal information. you will know when it's safe to give him any of your information. good luck!

And you should still keep the proper safety precautions. Meet in a public place. Let someone know where you are going, and when they should expect you back. A "silent alarm" is always a good idea in these situations. That means someone is expecting you to call them during the meeting. If you're meeting your on-line friend at 2:00, have a friend expect a call from you at 3:00. If they don't hear from you, they should worry, and call the police. The thing about silent alarms though is you have to take them seriously and make SURE you call at the right time.
